Clinic Merge—Working from Multiple Locations

If you require access to your Practice Manager information from more than one PC or Laptop then DGL's Clinic Merge license is the perfect solution. Clinic Merge has been specifically written for exactly those situations where perhaps, a practitioner has more than one secretary at different locations or wants to record outgoing expenditure or receive payment at home.

Only Clinic Merge from DGL offers the security, safety and ease of use of a dedicated merge program without resorting to backup/restore functions that restrict usage and are poor and often dangerous substitutes for a dedicated merge facility.

Intelligent Clinic Merge

Clinic Merge allows you to work on your Practice Manager software on two or more computers simultaneously. For example, Practice Manager could be installed both an office PC and on a laptop computer. At regular intervals, such as the end of the day or week, Clinic Merge will create an "Export File". This file is then transferred to the second PC (either by disk or by Internet - see below) where it is "imported". This PC then "learns" any work performed on the first computer. Finally, the process is reversed - all at the touch of a few keys (or, in the case of Internet Clinic Merge, no keys!) as the whole process is individually configured and then automated for you!

Merge over the Internet

This process can be fully automated over the internet between any number of individual PC's with timed overnight dial up facilities. (Requires subscription to DGL's internet services). This method ensures that all of the computers are fully up-to-date at the start of each day.

Merge by Disk

An alternative method to the Internet merge is by using disks (either floppy diskettes , a Zip Drives, or similar). Clinic Merge only transfers the information that has changed so only requires a minimal amount of data to be transferred. An average merge will fit onto between 1-3 floppy disks or a single Zip Drive. This merge must be performed on to and from each machine at least once a week.

Installing the Merge Software
Clinic Merge requires an initial on-site visit to install and configure the software. It is not a mail order option. This visit is required to perform and verify the initial synchronisation between the machines. All machines that are going to be part of the merge cycle must be at the same location initially for this process.
