As well as keeping Practice Manager up-to-date, it is also vital to ensure that you are running the latest updates for all of your Microsoft products, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Microsoft release regular "Patches" and "Service Packs" to fix any known bugs and to enhance existing features. Note that some updates may require you to restart your complete once loaded. Anti-Virus Updates and Virus Removal Tools...

DGL recommends the use of Symantec's Norton Antivirus product range, which includes a "LiveUpdate" facility to update your virus definitions on a regular basis. This requires all computers to have access to the Internet. If you need to download the virus definitions to load onto a computer that does NOT have internet access, use the link below to go to the Symantec download site. You can then download the latest virus definitions as 3 seperate files, each fitting onto a floppy disks. These disks can then be installed onto other machines. When asked, click "Save" and save each file to a different blank floppy disk ("A:"). Once all three disks have been downloaded, insert disk 1 into the PC to be updated. Go into "My Computer", "Floppy Drive", then double click on the program ".exe" file to begin installation. Insert disks 2 and 3 when prompted.
